Why this role exists:

Golioth is looking for a Head of Developer Marketing to lead the charge on a developer marketing strategy and execution of those programs for the company. Developer marketing at Golioth is responsible for creating core messaging & positioning, building brand awareness and affinity among hardware developers, creating and distributing thought leadership content, and driving demand through content, email, events, social media, and PR. As the first Marketing hire at Golioth, you will be responsible for structuring and executing overall developer marketing strategy, working hand-in-hand with the CEO and other executive team members to encourage developers to learn about, try, adopt, use and contribute to the Golioth product line.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in developer marketing
  • In-depth working knowledge of product marketing functions and principles
  • Thrive in a remote-first, asynchronous work place where internal communication is critical
  • Metrics set up and analysis to determine marketing performance
  • Go-to-market strategy and execution experience
  • Product + content marketing experience

  • Experienced marketer with a track record of building brands, creating messaging & position, doing persona development, and producing great content in the tech space, IoT preferred
  • Worked on developer-facing enterprise products in a Marketing role
  • Managed projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards and attention to detail
  • Comfortable setting up a marketing “stack” of tools and systems and tracking metrics closely
  • Executed strategy and pulled people in as needed
  • Created and managed a budget and optimize for ROI over time
  • *Bonus points for experience with open source, dev tools and/or hardware/IoT

Other Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with CEO to set strategic goals
  • Lead in developing clear, compelling messaging and positioning Golioth to align with our key product values and addresses the most pressing challenges our customers are facing
  • Own go-to-market strategy for new feature launches and partner with Product and Developer Relations to drive product adoption
  • Develop and create content including blog articles, social posts, thought leadership pieces, etc leveraging contract resources as needed
  • Work with the Developer Relations team to distill insights and learnings from the community and turn it into valuable content
  • Develop channel strategy to drive awareness and interest for target audiences
  • Track and report on all metrics and continually iterate and optimize for desired goals
  • Manage budget and hire/manage any necessary contract resources

In the first 90-days on the job, you will:

  • Create core messaging, positioning, and persona development for our target audiences
  • Generate awareness + interest from hardware developers and executives at hardware companies
  • Choosing a best option for metrics tracking as well as setting up metrics, especially as it relates to interfacing with the core development team
  • Success will be measured by engagement with website, content, events, and community, and the increase in inbound inquiries and developer usage of the product
