Comp: $50/hr

Title: Grant Writer to Prevent Human Trafficking

The Company’s mission: Nomi Network’s mission is to create economic opportunities for survivors and women at risk of human trafficking by equipping them with leadership, entrepreneurship, and production skills to become financially independent. Our vision is a world without slavery where every woman can know her full potential.

Why this role exists: One of NOMI’s strengths historically has been in securing funding through foundations, the Grant Writer makes this possible. The project goal is to position Nomi Network for growth and maturity through acquiring large scale grants by applying to requests for proposals and providing strategic communications. At the end of the day, the Grant Writer makes it possible for us to have a greater impact by helping reduce human trafficking by addressing its root causes through our proven programs.


  • Crafting new content for large proposals
  • Editing, strengthening and updating proposals
  • Working closely with Nomi Network’s Executive Director
  • Monitoring grant deadlines, ROIs, and communications with grant making entities
  • Helping connect the dots for other people/foundations about how NOMI is addressing human trafficking through curriculum and training
  • Analyzing funding history and securing recommendations for new leads to produce growth


  • At 3 months you’ll be learning the program model, getting familiar with our mission and helping us improve our process
  • At 6 months you’ll have the above locked down and will be working on more complex proposals
  • At 12 months you’ll be developing proposals completely on your own and building your own templates

Required skills + competencies:

  • Minimum 2 years grant writing experience
  • Strong research skills, the ability to dig into complex information and understand what is required
  • Creative thinking
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superb written and oral communication
  • Excellent problem solving abilities around researching and reaching out to new contacts and funding opportunities

Comp + Hours

  • 20 hours a week
  • $50/hour up to a cap of $2,000 per project submission, subject to extenuating circumstances
  • Subject to performance review
